Pueblo Don Thomas Tecina Golf La Gomera

Tecina Golf is placed in the south of the island of La Gomera, in a small fishing village called Beach Santiago. The field takes advantage of all the characteristics that this privileged place offers it; a soft temperature during the whole year, the scarcity of winds and a few impressive sights of the ocean and of the near island of Tenerife, with the majestic Teide.

The quality of the materials and the special care put in all the details, remains perfectly reflected in the beauty of his more than 6.000 m. of surface. The 18 holes with a quite demanding par 71, guarantee the enjoyment of an unique experience in an exceptional field.

Tecina Golf is located in the Island of La Gomera, in the Canary Islands. The total Course surface is approximately 55 ha. and with a total length of 6.205 metres for a demanding Par 71. The green or playing area has a total of 30 ha., surrounded by 25 ha. of arid areas planted with typical plants from La Gomera and the Canary Islands, plus all the cart paths.

The Course is situated on the Lomada de Tecina, a privileged area with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean, the Island of Tenerife and the Teide. This happens due to the fact that from the 1st Tee until the 18th Green there is a 175 metres drop and a downslide rate of 10 %, which gives a very wide vision angle. The player can see the Ocean from every spot on the Golf Course, which blends into a fantastic landscape that is a pleasure to the eye.

Tecina Golf is a challenge to every type of player, since although it has generous fairways, which invite the player to hit the ball freely, the shots into the greens are quite demanding. They are protected by numerous bunkers, and with quite undulated greens and surroundings, giving it a very links course type landscape. Definitively, playing at Tecina Golf is a unique experience, where the player enjoys an amazing landscape, and a demanding Golf Course in magnificent shape all year round, thanks to a high quality construction.

Donald Steel, designer among many others, of the New Saint Andrews in Scotland, has been encouraged to give free reign to his famous creative imagination. The spectacular views of ravines and the unbroken view over the Atlantic Ocean, with Mt. Teide in the background, are a guarantee that you will enjoy a unique experience. The course has been laid out in such a way as to create holes that are dazzlingly beautiful and difficult. The fourth, for example, is a 169-metre hole, in which players have to drive over the Tapahuga gorge for a very tough par 3. The tenth (337 metres) deserves a special mention, because of the length and the setting. The tee is 45 metres above the level of the green!

After the round, the strategically situated Club House awaits the player to enjoy a snack and a cold drink, with a spectacular view over the Ocean, and the Tapahuga Beach.
